The principle of heat dissipation for TEK LED high bay light-- High performance heat pipe with aluminum fins.

The heat-pipe’s principle is using the quick phases change the liquid(medium) under vacuum condition which exchange the heat, the heat transfer rate is superior to any metal.By Riveting the heat pipe to the aluminum fins, the heat pipe can conduct heat rapidly from chips bottom to the fins, greatly lower down the temperature of LED light source, extending it’s lifespan

Why use heat pipe designed heat sink for LED high bay light?
 
Before that, we study the thermal management of high-power LEDs. Most of the electricity in an LED becomes heat rather than light, high power LED transforms 20%-30% of electric energy to light and more than 70% of electric energy has been transformed into heat. Moreover, if use a build-in driver, the wastage of driver also adds the heat of LED. The accumulation of heat makes the temperature rise, the rising of temperature cause the performance of chip decay, material ageing, and degeneration. If this heat is not removed, the LED run at high temperatures, which not only lower their efficiency, but also makes the LED less reliable. Thus, thermal management of high power LEDs is a crucial area of research and development. It is highly necessary to keep the junction temperature below 120degree to run the LED’s maximum lifetime. This is largely due to improved thermal management and heat sinking characteristics
